Aldelano Packaging Corp. Receives Supplier of the Year Honor from Procter & Gamble
Aldelano Packaging Corp. recently received Procter & Gamble’s Minority Business Enterprise Supplier of the Year award.
In presenting the award to Aldelano on November 2 at P&G’s 11th Annual Supplier Diversity Awards luncheon in Cincinnati, P&G’s Lisa Ott, supplier diversity manager, snacks and beverage purchasing manager, labels said, “Aldelano has been a long-term supplier to P&G, and over the years, has truly demonstrated their flexibility, responsiveness and value.
“As a supplier to P&G’s Jackson, Tennessee plant since 1991, Aldelano touches 19% of our U.S. Pringles production. They have had to adapt to P&G standards, change their culture and add some management support, but have kept their pricing constant. In addition, they have a history of sharing savings with us,” she adds.
The awards recognize P&G employees, and minority- and women-owned suppliers for their outstanding contributions in the area of supplier diversity during the past fiscal year. Delivering cost savings, spending and creating an even stronger supply base are key traits of all the winners.
“The individuals and companies recognized helped expand P&G’s supplier diversity efforts,” says Icy Williams, director corporate supplier diversity. “Through their work, P&G’s spending with diverse suppliers in fiscal 2004-05 surpassed $1.5 billion and culminated in our induction into the Billion Dollar Roundtable in May 2005. This is a prestigious organization made up of an elite group of 14 other corporations whose combined purchases resulted in over $24 billion in spending with diverse suppliers.”
Aldelano has been serving P&G for 26 years. In addition to the Jackson plant, Aldelano is supporting Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts at P&G’s coffee plant in New Orleans.
“Aldelano was able to deploy a complete temporary work force from Jackson, Tennessee -- two days after they received the award -- to meet our critical Folgers line start-up needs,” Ott adds.
“This is, indeed, a huge honor. We are delighted to be recognized by P&G,” says Al Hollingsworth, Aldelano’s president and chief executive officer who founded the company in 1968. “This is a tribute to the dedication and hard work of our employees and our partners.”
